PsykiatriFonden's mission is to provide information on mental health issues to the public, including information about mental disorders, their causes, prevention and treatment. 

Among other things PsykiatriFonden hosts seminars and events, publishes books and the quarterly journal 'Psykiatri-Information', offers tuition in schools nationwide, offers counselling to individuals suffering from mental health problems (including public and private sector employees with a view to preventing extended periods of sick leave).  

PsykiatriFonden's hotline is staffed 12 hours a day, all year round. 

PsykiatriFonden was founded in 1996 and has 70 employees and 70 volunteers. 

HRH Crown Princess Mary is the patron of PsykiatriFonden.
